The C1 24 Hours could go ahead in 2026, with dates already set at its usual venue, the Algarve International Circuit. Whether the event takes place will depend on the number of entries. The C1 24 Hours became an event that consistently attracted a large field. The little C1s never delivered breathtaking speeds, but they provided close racing and plenty of enjoyment for the drivers. For many professional and amateur racers, the 24-hour race was one of the highlights of the season, bringing teams together to battle it out in the trusty French machines, in an endurance event that combined fun with affordable racing. Despite the uncertainty at the start of the season, the race now looks as though it could get the green light. The C1 Eurocup organiser has announced that the event will take place at the Algarve International Circuit on 19–20 December 2026, provided a minimum of 45 cars are entered. If that minimum is exceeded, prize money and discounts on entries already submitted have been promised. This is another initiative from G’s Competizione, which, alongside developing the Type R Legacy Cup, has also invested in reviving C1 racing this year. The 24-hour race could be the missing piece needed to revitalise a competition that gave some their first taste of racing and offered more experienced drivers a thoroughly enjoyable challenge.
